Surf Retreat in Guatemala
Guatemala is owner/founder Ryan Croteau’s secret surf zone that he has been exploring since 2012. Now he is planning a 7 day, 6-night retreat to this epic country for a VIP limited experience! This trip has a maximum of 14 guests. If you have surfed with Ryan before than you know you can trust his judgment on where to score waves. Ryan has visited Guatemala many times and has made amazing connections. Our Guatemalan contacts have a surf hotel, opened the first surf shop in the country, and are the first ones to pioneer surf tourism by starting a surf guiding & surf school business like we do here in California. The CSE team has teamed up with them to create another epic surf experience for our loyal clients who want to take their surfing to the next level under Ryan’s guidance and energy. Ryan chose Guatemala for the first-ever CSExcursion for its uncrowded lineups, friendly people, warm water, and variety of waves from beginner to advanced. It will be a trip of a lifetime that you will not want to miss.
This trip is held at El Paredón Beach, and we stay beachfront at a laidback surf hotel. Guatemala is known for its uncrowded lineups, friendly people, warm water, and variety of waves from beginner to advanced.

El Paredón is a relaxing and welcoming beach near Sipacate in Guatemala. A tranquil surfing oasis conveniently located two hours from Guatemala City and Antigua, El Paredón is a secret surfing paradise with great waves year-round. Some say it is the best surfing spot in Guatemala. El Paredón is barely more than a single street at the end of a hard earth road that can feel like a long way from anywhere, but it’s a town well on the way to becoming Guatemala’s surf capital.
After many years of teaching surf lessons in Southern California, with hundreds of students taught how to surf, Ryan Croteau, founder of Csxcurisons, often heard “I went on a surf trip to this epic destination out of the country but I wasn’t learning surfing the way I do with you.” This exact sentence is why Ryan Launched Croteau Surf Excursions, a.k.a. Csxcursions, To create a place where his students can get out of the country, immerse themselves in foreign culture, and learn from their favorite coach. Ryan has traveled the world in search of the perfect wave, leading him to many connections all over the world. These connections allow him to create an epic experience for his retreats and have the most fun possible with the best surf coaching.
